This Is Where It All Began
This photo was taken at an orphanage in Bali, where I taught my very first kids yoga class. The words painted on the wall—“allow differences, respect differences, until differences are no longer different”—have stayed in my heart ever since.
Years later, seeing the image of Earth captured by astronauts on the Artemis II mission stopped me in my tracks. It brought me back to that moment in Bali. Two very different perspectives, yet the same truth surfaced: beyond all differences, we are one.
At the time, I was completing my first 200-hour yoga teacher training. As a trainee, I had the opportunity to teach at an orphanage in a small village, working with children of diverse physical and mental abilities. That experience changed me. I still remember the joy on their faces—pure, unfiltered, and alive. In that moment, something lit up inside me. I knew I wanted to share that feeling of joy, connection, and harmony with my own children, my family, and my community.
When I returned to Los Angeles, the seed for Harmony Family Yoga was planted.
It was more than an idea—it felt like a calling. My children were still young, and I felt a deep desire to share yoga with families like ours. In a world where kids are increasingly distracted, parents are experiencing burnout, and mental health challenges are rising, I felt an urgency to offer something meaningful. Not yoga as performance or entertainment, but true yoga—connection, presence, and inner peace.
And that purpose has not changed.
Over the past six years, Harmony has grown beyond the studio walls. We’ve had the honor of bringing yoga and sound healing into spaces where it’s needed most—from supporting those navigating cancer journeys, to offering healing sound baths, to sharing gentle movement in recovery centers, to creating moments of joy through community events like bunny yoga at local schools.
This has always been at the heart of our mission: yoga as connection, care, and community.
If anything, true yoga feels more needed now than ever before. As I look back on these past six years, I feel immense gratitude for every person who has been part of this journey. To our instructors who believed in this vision, and to our Harmony families—you are the heart of everything we’ve built. You have shaped Harmony into what it is today.
Here’s to our mission: we are one. And harmony begins within—with peace, alignment, and love.
