FLY YOUR WISHES

FLY YOUR WISHES: outside Harmony Family Yoga

Hang your prayer flags around our wishing tree.

Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all pervading space.

Colors

Each color of the flag signifies an element— and the flags are always arranged in groups of 5 in the proper order, from left to right:

Blue is Space/Sky

White represents Air/Clouds

Red symbolizes Fire

Green is Water

Yellow symbolizes the earth.

Which Day ?

Days on which there is an eclipse, a full moon, or a new moon are considered auspicious.

Outdoors:

Prayer flags are always hung at a height because it is considered disrespectful to touch the ground.

Mantras to Chant: om mani padme hum

Om- The sacred syllable

Mani- Jewel

Padme – Lotus

Hum – Spirit of enlightenment

Pray for Peace:

Om Shanti, Om Shanti Om Shanti.

Connecting the body, mind and spirit; cultivating peace within each of us and as a community; sending peace into the world.

Write Your Wish:

Prayer flags and their spiritual messages are meant to help and benefit other beings, not yourself. Meditate on the message or say it out loud.

Blessing Your Prayer Flags:
Select your unselfish motivations and intentions for hanging your prayer flags. Give your prayer flags a blessing using incense alongside with smoke purification.

Fly Your Wish:

The color fading from the flags is considered auspicious. As the wind touches  the flag, it is spreading your good wishes into the universe.  And if you gather your family and well-wishers while doing so, the flags then are said to have a positive impact on your life.
